Walter F. George Dam Long Term Riprap Repair

Repairing 12,128 ft of the upstream face on two non-overflow earthen dikes. Approximately half of the work is in Alabama and half in Georgia. The existing Armor stone and filter fabric is to be carefully removed and replaced with new armor stone so as not to disturb the existing earthen Dike. The work is being performed in three phases. In the first phase the reservoir pool will be lowered for 6 weeks to allow access to replace the toe stone of the embankment. Upon the completion of phase 1 the remainder of the embankment stone will be replaced. The final phase of the Project will be to restore the site and reconstruct the access roads.
